Congratulations! You can now start working in Korea.

But before you work, there are things you must prepare. Get documents from your boss, and if you will be cooking, take a health checkup. It's not difficult! Take it step by step.

Prepare the documents

This is how international students (D-2, D-4 visa) can work part-time

1. Write a contract with your boss

  • You must have a standard labor contract

2. Visit your school and get a part-time employment confirmation letter from the school

  • You must have the school's seal

3. Get a certificate of enrollment and a transcript

  • You can get them from the school website

  • If unsure, ask a teacher or school staff

4. Visit your boss

  • Ask your boss to sign the part-time employment confirmation letter

  • Ask your boss for a copy of the business registration certificate and a copy of their ID (receive as paper or take a photo)

5. Prepare your TOPIK score report, or if the English track, prepare a certificate with your English test score

6. Prepare a copy of your passport or alien registration card

  • Copy both sides with a copier

  • Or take a photo with a camera

7. Apply for part-time work permission on Hi-Korea

Request documents from your boss

International students need help from the boss to work. Politely ask for the necessary documents from your boss.
