✅ Who can apply for blood donation and volunteer hours linking?
As long as you meet the following conditions, it's possible for everyone regardless of nationality.
Foreign nationals or international students with a history of blood donation in Korea
VMS (Social Welfare Volunteer Management) & 1365 Volunteer Portal account holders
👉 When applying for linking, one blood donation can be converted into 4 hours of volunteer work!
📝 How do you apply for linking?
STEP 1️⃣: Sign up and log in to VMS
You need a VMS (Social Welfare Volunteer Management System) account for volunteer hours.
Access the VMS website (https://www.vms.or.kr)
Proceed with registration
Log in after registration
⚠️ Caution
You must enter your name in English exactly as it appears on your passport or alien registration card to avoid errors in the linking process!
STEP 2️⃣: Link 1365 Volunteer Portal account
Next, you need to link your 1365 Volunteer Portal and VMS accounts.
Access and log in to the 1365 Volunteer Portal (http://1365.go.kr)
Click 'My Volunteer Info → Member Info (Additional Info)'
Select VMS performance linking and agree to link
⚠️ Caution
You must agree to link on both VMS and 1365 for the conversion to be completed!
🔍 STEP 3️⃣**: Check blood donation record on VMS**
Now it's time to check your blood donation record!
Log in to VMS → My Page
Click on 'Blood Donation Record Check'
👉 If you see your blood donation record, you're ready for volunteer hour conversion! ☺️
🔄 STEP 4️⃣**: Convert blood donation to volunteer hours**
You can apply for immediate conversion on the blood donation record page.
Click on the 'Convert to Volunteer Hours (Apply for Conversion)' button
Proceed according to system instructions
📌 If an error occurs at this stage, please check STEP 2️⃣ (Linking 1365 Volunteer Portal account) again.
⚠️ Are there any cautions when applying?
For foreigners, there are additional things to be careful of when applying for conversion!
If the English name is different, a linking error may occur. 🤯
If the blood donation record is old, the conversion of some records may be restricted. 🥲
In the case of international students, volunteer hour recognition criteria may vary by school, so it's recommended to check the criteria of the school's international office/student office as well! 👨🏫
