VIVISA REAL INTERVIEW🎤 (3) Menya Seoul - Giang - Vietnam

2026-03-23

“There were times I was paid less just because I was a foreigner, but thanks to VIVISA, I can now work and receive fair wages.” — Menya Seoul Part-timer | Giang (Vietnam)

If you're an international student in Korea, you've probably thought, 'I need to find a part-time job, but where do I start?'

Today, we introduce the story of Giang, a Vietnamese student who found a reliable job amidst such concerns and is maintaining stable work. 🙋‍♀️

— Hello, nice to meet you. Please introduce yourself briefly.

Hello, I'm Giang from Vietnam. I am currently studying Korean at Seojeong University, and it's been less than a year since I came to Korea.

— What methods have you primarily used to find part-time jobs in Korea?

I mostly used recommendations from acquaintances, the "Danggeun Market" app, and Facebook groups.

However, most jobs were just short-term, and it was difficult to find long-term positions!

I once worked briefly in restaurants or farms, but some employers paid me less than agreed just because I was a foreigner, which was upsetting. 😢 It was also hard to argue because of the language barrier.

— It must have been really tough if you had such experiences. What do you consider the most important condition when choosing a part-time job?

Firstly, working hours that don't overlap with classes, and secondly, the wages.

At least the minimum hourly wage is necessary for living.

— What was the most difficult part when finding a job on your own?

Korean was the hardest.

Due to the language barrier, it was hard to accurately match working conditions or schedules, and I was often rejected because 'international students have poor communication skills.'

— How did you come to know about VIVISA?

My senior, Mai Anh, at the same Korean language institute told me about it.

She also found a job through VIVISA and said they helped her a lot when applying for part-time jobs, so I trusted them.

So I applied immediately too. 😊

— How was your process of applying for a part-time job through VIVISA?

Every process was convenient. They connected me with employers just by applying some information, so there was no need to contact anyone myself or prepare documents.

From part-time job applications to interview coordination and work permit applications, they helped from A-Z, making it really fast and easy to find a part-time job.

Since coming to Korea, there wasn't anyone who helped like this, but the VIVISA team guided me through the procedures quickly and meticulously.

— After this experience, do you think you can go through such procedures on your own in the future?

I could try alone, but I worry it would take a long time and I might make mistakes.

So if possible, I'd like to continue receiving VIVISA's help. 💙

— If you were to recommend VIVISA to a friend, what point would you emphasize?

The excellent language support. For international students who are not fluent in Korean, such support is really necessary!!!

VIVISA has a Vietnamese team member helping directly with communication, making it much easier and safer to entrust all procedures.

— How is working at Menya Seoul?

I'm really satisfied.

Previously, some bosses underestimated foreigners or cut wages, but the atmosphere at Menya Seoul is completely different.

Everyone is kind and supports each other, making work comfortable and enjoyable.

The workload is just right, and my colleagues are kind, so I look forward to going to work every day. 🍜

— Finally, what advice would you give to other international students looking for part-time jobs in Korea?

Initially, there are many unfamiliar and difficult things, but I’d like to tell you not to worry too much.

Also, it's most important to apply through reliable sources rather than rushing into finding a job.

I was also anxious at first, but now I'm starting to enjoy life in Korea a bit more. 🌿

🍀 In conclusion…

We've heard the story of Giang working part-time at Menya Seoul, and VIVISA is really happy that Giang found a good part-time job.

VIVISA will continue to help international students find safe and good jobs.

Just like Giang's story, we hope all challenges in Korea will become valuable experiences and happy memories for you too. 💙
