“The part-time work hours and environment were perfect” — Menya Seoul Part-time | Duc Minh (Vietnam)

Are you finding the perfect part-time job for you? 💼

This time, let me introduce Duc Minh, a Vietnamese student comfortably finding a part-time job with VIVISA's help while excellently balancing studies and work. 😀

— Hello, nice to meet you. Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Hello, I'm Duc Minh from Vietnam. I’ve been in Korea for about a year now and I am pursuing a master’s degree at Yonsei University.

— Have you tried many part-time jobs in Korea?

My first part-time job was at a Vietnamese restaurant. I saw an ad on Facebook and went directly to interview. But the work hours didn’t match my study schedule, so I left. Now, I’m working at Menya Seoul for my second part-time job.

— Did you encounter any difficulties while looking for or applying to jobs?

Initially, Korean was a significant barrier. I was very nervous during interviews and when talking to the manager. But now that I'm more accustomed to Korean, language difficulties are almost nonexistent.

— What is the most important condition when choosing a part-time job?

The first condition I consider is safety. The most important thing is whether the salary is paid correctly and whether the job doesn't cause visa issues. The next is the comfort of the work environment. I’m satisfied if the time and atmosphere suit me, even if the hourly wage isn't very high.

— What was the most helpful thing when applying for jobs through VIVISA?

They helped by adjusting the interview time and relaying questions I wanted to ask the manager beforehand. I would have been a bit anxious if I had to contact directly, but they were helpful and trustworthy.

— How did you apply for the part-time work permit after being accepted?

The VIVISA team helped me apply for the part-time work permit, and the process was very satisfactory. They provided detailed guidance and quickly responded, making the application easier. Especially, I learned from VIVISA that I need to report to immigration upon leaving a previous job. If I had done it alone, I might have spent a long time correcting documents. 🤯

— You seem quite satisfied with your experience using VIVISA services!

10 out of 10 points. Both VIVISA and Menya Seoul were legally safe and provided friendly service.👍

— Do you intend to recommend VIVISA to friends looking for part-time jobs?

Of course, I do!

While it's possible to manage once you have tried the process once, I think getting help from professional institutions is more efficient. Especially because handling resignation reports or unexpected administrative situations is tough on your own.

It will be a great help not only for students finding their first part-time job but also for friends who wish to quickly handle complex administrative procedures. 💪

— How was working at Menya Seoul in practice?

The work hours matched my class schedule well. Most of the staff were Vietnamese, which made it easy to adapt and help one another. Compared to the previous restaurant I worked at, the workload here is moderate, making me want to stay longer.

— It’s great to see that the job VIVISA recommended suits Duc Minh well! ☺️ Is there any service you'd like VIVISA to provide in the future?

I hope they start a full-time job placement service for upcoming graduates. A platform that connects not just part-time jobs but also employment would be beneficial for many international students!

🌿 VIVISA is creating a trustworthy part-time job hunting environment for students like Duc Minh who wish to work safely in Korea. Create stable and enjoyable experiences in Korea with VIVISA! 💙
